San Joaquin Valley Lapidary Society

San Joaquin Valley Lapidary Society is a club of members with strong interests in rocks and minerals, lapidary, mining, metalworking, fossils and geology. As a club, we participate in local annual events, such as The Kern County Fair, Bakersfield College’s Garden Fest, and Wind Wolves Preserve’s Annual Spring Nature Festival. Another aspect of community outreach is through our monthly meetings where we present speakers on rock related topics that are open to the public. Club members are available to do rock and mineral presentations to middle school students as part of Kern County’s curriculum. Members must be 18 years or older to join.

The club offers monthly Field trips in Kern County and beyond. Monthly meetings also feature a Silent Auction, Camaraderie and an opportunity to share information. The club has a monthly newsletter. We offer weekly workshops, where members can learn lapidary, metalwork, beading, wire wrapping, and other related skills. Mentors, with years of experience, are available to guide your journey. ROCK ON!
